Throughout its history, Western Union has always found a way to roll with the punches and tap into new service opportunities. The telegram company of yesteryear is now a globally respected name helping individuals and businesses send and receive money online, or in person, through their global network of over 500,000 agent locations.
For the Canadian market Western Union operates a transactional site (westernunion.ca) and a marketing site (westernunioncanada.ca). For the past 6 years we've managed the marketing site for Western Union Canada that's centred around one goal: to offer a modern, responsive, and flexible platform to help tell the Western Union story with a Canadian twist. The marketing site is aimed at promoting their services, and the stories surrounding moving money that bolster WU's reputation for easy, cost effective, remittance.
Our goal with the latest launch was to position promotions, services information and success stories at the forefront, while guiding those with transactional needs to the correct landing pages of the transactional site. The site was built using WordPress, allowing the marketing department to self manage content with streamlined page templates that look beautiful on all screens. We also manage the vigo.ca website, a sub brand of Western Union Canada.
